Design with Scents Workshop, Kingston University 9th-13th July 2012

Training in perfumery practices is a specialist and frequently expensive business, often requiring trainees to travel overseas to perfume houses such as those located in Grasse, South of France. For some time I have been searching for a decently priced, UK based course, so was absolutely delighted when Kingston University recently announced their 5-day workshop on ‘Design with Scents’, to be held this July.

The interactive workshop will be led by three key UK-based figures in the perfume industry: Nicola Pozzani, Joanna Norman and John Ayres. It is targeted at students from the fields of fashion, design, art and architecture, professionals and perfume lovers from across these and other creative industries. Participants will discover how to use scent as a powerful tool to enhance their projects.

During the week, participants will experiment with blending a ‘scent for space’ use and will take home a personal perfume kit which can be used as a reference for future projects, as well for further home study. The cost of the workshop is £490 for the full week (accommodation and travel not included) and places are strictly limited.
